Terms of use

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the French version prevails.

1. Purpose and acceptance

These terms of use (the « Terms ») govern the use of the website sisyf.com and all its features (the « Site »), published by the company TVMG (the « Publisher »), whose full details are given in the legal notice.

Creating an account and using the Site mean full, complete and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these terms, you must refrain from using the Site.

2. Definitions

  • Site: all the pages, features and services available at sisyf.com.
  • User: any adult natural person who has an account on the Site.
  • Account: the personal space created by the User, giving access to the Site's features.
  • User Content: any data imported or created by the User through the Site, including GPX tracks, race plans, segments, aid station strategies, settings and personal notes.

3. Description of the service

Sisyf is an online tool to help prepare for trail running races. It lets you, among other things, build a race plan from a GPX track, estimate split times by segment, define an aid station strategy and generate printable roadbook sheets.

The service is provided free of charge. The Publisher reserves the right to introduce paid features in the future, without calling into question the free features existing at the time of the change.

The Publisher strives to keep the Site available but guarantees neither uninterrupted operation, nor the absence of errors, nor the perpetual retention of User Content. The User is invited to keep their own backups of the Content they consider important.

4. Creating and managing the account

Access to the Site's features requires creating an Account. Creating an Account is reserved for adult natural persons with legal capacity.

The User undertakes to provide accurate, up-to-date and complete information when signing up, and to keep it up to date. They are solely responsible for the confidentiality of their login details and for any activity carried out from their Account.

The User can delete their Account at any time from their personal space or by writing to contact@sisyf.com. Deletion erases the User Content under the conditions set out in the privacy policy.

5. Health warning and limits of the service

The Site is intended for adults with no medical contraindication to trail running. Before any use, it is up to the User to make sure they are fit to practise this sport, where appropriate by consulting a health professional.

Sisyf is a preparation aid. The target paces, split times, hydration needs and nutrition intakes it calculates are estimates given for guidance only, generated solely from the data entered by the User, without checking their accuracy. They constitute neither a personalised training plan, nor medical advice, nor nutrition advice, and cannot replace the judgement of a coach, a doctor or a nutritionist.

Trail running involves inherent risks (falls, injuries, hypothermia, dehydration, hyponatraemia, cardiac events, etc.). The User acknowledges practising at their own risk and undertakes to stop any effort in case of pain, feeling unwell or discomfort. The Publisher cannot be held liable for injuries, accidents or worsening of a health condition occurring in connection with the use of the information provided by the Site.

6. Prohibited behaviour

The User undertakes to use the Site in good faith and in particular refrains from:

  • importing or distributing content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringes the rights of third parties, notably intellectual property;
  • importing a GPX file over which they do not hold the necessary rights;
  • attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers or systems linked to the Site;
  • carrying out automated extraction (« scraping ») or automated use of the Site (bots, scripts) outside any official APIs that may be made available;
  • reselling, sub-licensing or commercially exploiting all or part of the Site without the Publisher's prior written permission;
  • circumventing or attempting to circumvent the technical protection measures or usage limits of the Site.

7. User Content

The User keeps full ownership of the User Content they import or create on the Site. They guarantee that they hold all the necessary rights over this content, notably over the GPX tracks they import.

To allow the Site to work, the User grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, free, worldwide and limited licence to store, reproduce, technically adapt and display this content, strictly to the extent necessary to provide the service to the User themselves. This licence ends when the User Content or the Account is deleted.

The Publisher does not use User Content for commercial purposes, does not make it public and does not share it with third parties, subject to the technical subcontractors listed in the privacy policy.

8. Suspension and termination

The User can terminate their Account at any time, without notice or reason, from their personal space or by email to contact@sisyf.com.

The Publisher may suspend or terminate a User's Account, without notice or compensation, in the event of a breach of these Terms, notably for behaviour covered by article 6, providing inaccurate information when signing up, or fraudulent use of the Site.

The Publisher may also end the service, in whole or in part, at any time, by informing Users within a reasonable period and allowing them to retrieve their User Content.

9. Limitation of liability

The Publisher strives to ensure the proper working of the Site and the accuracy of the information it provides, without being able to guarantee it. The Publisher cannot be held liable for:

  • errors, omissions or approximations in the estimates calculated by the Site, which are provided for guidance only (see article 5);
  • temporary interruptions of the service due to maintenance, a technical change or force majeure;
  • the loss of User Content resulting from a technical incident, the action of a third party or the deletion of the Account by the User;
  • the use the User makes of the information provided by the Site, notably their sporting, nutrition or safety choices during a race.

No provision of these Terms may, however, exclude or limit the Publisher's liability in the event of gross or intentional misconduct, nor with regard to the rights the law grants the User as a consumer.

10. Personal data

The processing of the User's personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Terms

The Publisher reserves the right to change these Terms at any time. Substantial changes will be notified to Users by email or by a message visible on the Site, before they come into force.

Continued use of the Site after the date the new Terms come into force means acceptance of them. A User who does not accept the new Terms must stop using the Site and may, where appropriate, delete their Account.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their formation, interpretation or performance will be brought before the competent French courts, after a prior attempt at an amicable settlement and subject to the mandatory rules applicable to consumers.
